The spring is always a busy season for us photographers. With that said, it’s been awhile since I have been able to add a new post to the blog, but today I gotta sneak one in. Last night I shot the Don’t Be A Chump, Check for A Lump; WIG OUT party and auction fundraiser organized by The Live & Give Foundation and held at the Moon Valley Country Club.
Holly Rose is responsible for organizing the foundation. It came out of her own experience as a breast cancer survivor. Luckily she was reminded via Facebook to perform a self-examination and had better chances through early detection. The Live & Give Foundation offers information and resources to woman who have just discovered they have breast cancer. More information can be found on their website: http://checkforalump.com/ Because Holly was diagnosed at the young age of 39, she also wants to make women aware this is not a senior’s issues, but also for young women.
My task last night was to photograph all the attendees as they entered the party. Fairly simple, but I wanted to push it up a few notches so I put up a few studio strobes with red and blue gels and used my ringflash to add a funky party effect. By the time people passed me, oh yes, they were definitely in a party mood!
